Starting Over…Again.

Tampa Virtual AssistantI’m back!  I have closed my home-based cupcake shop as of the beginning of the year.  While I LOVED baking and creating unique and fun cupcakes, it was a labor of love and not producing enough income to really sustain my needs.

So, I started working part-time with a business broker (Legacy Venture Group) as his “Girl Friday.”  For a little over a year, I’ve been working as a virtual administrative assistant.  I’ve been handling much of his administrative work and help him solve marketing problems by doing some of the following:

  • Answer his initial requests for information about available business listings across the state of Florida.
  • Gather non-disclosure agreements and buyer’s worksheets.
  • Add his new listings to the Florida Business MLS service, BBFMLS and to popular business listing websites BuyBizSell, BizQuest, BusinessesforSale, and others.
  • Update his WordPress website.
  • Create posts for his social media accounts and updating his WordPress website as needed.
  • Craft/edit 1-page obscure business reviews and the more detailed confidential Comprehensive Business Reviews.
  • Craft business processes and draft eBooks for his business.
  • Creating Adwords and Facebook advertising campaigns.
  • Maintaining his social media presence.

Some things that are in the works are:

  • Creating videos to promote his services and his business.
  • Creating and publishing a business brokerage podcast.

It’s only been during the past few months, that I’ve started to realize just how much knowledge and experience I’ve gained doing a lot of things that I REALLY like to do!

What Now?

So, I’ve decided to create a Virtual Consultant business out of it.  I have not created a full website yet… just this blog for the moment… but I do have social media pages that are in their infancy.  I’m also in the process of learning Click Funnels.

This time around, I’m going to try to document how this process goes so I can pass on what works for me and share my failures to help others what has worked for me and what hasn’t.

  1. Jen! I’m wishing you the best of luck. No question you’ll continue to succeed. Taking a step back is necessary at times to jump two steps forward.

    1. Thanks Jerod! Hope all is well with you these days! Sometimes, I feel like all I’m doing is going backward. At least with this particular business, it’ll put the schooling I’ve been working on (an MBA focused in Marketing) to good use.
